How To Stop Negative Thinking Forever!


Do you have a tendency to see the worst in everything? Do you find it hard to concentrate on anything for a long period of time? If so, you are not alone. Many people have this problem and they are called “Negative Thinkers”.

I personally believe that most of us have negative thoughts, but what differentiates a “Negative Thinker” from the rest of the world is his inability to control those thoughts. In other words, he cannot stop them from coming up in his mind. This problem is very common among teenagers and young adults.

I don’t know about you but I, myself am a negative thinker and I have been struggling with this problem for almost all my life. But you know what? I don’t care about what other people think about me. Because I know that I am a good person at heart. And sometimes it is very difficult to be positive all the time. But you know what? It is not impossible and if you learn how to control your negative thoughts then it will be easier for you to be positive all the time. Here are some of the ways by which you can control your negative thoughts:

1. Count your blessings The first thing that you need to do is you need to count your blessings. If you have a tendency to find everything bad in life then you should start counting your good deeds. When you do this every day, after a few days you will find it hard to think about anything negative at all.

2. Force yourself to think positively Another way to stop thinking negatively is to force yourself to think positively. You can do this by reading inspiring books, listening to motivational speeches, or just thinking positive thoughts yourself.

You can also create a “Positive Thinking Routine”. For example, every morning when you wake up think about three things that you are grateful for. After a few days, I am sure you will not have any negative thoughts at all.

3. Replace negative people with positive people If you are surrounded by negative people then it will be very difficult for you to think positively. So, the first thing you should do is to remove yourself from those people. If possible, you should avoid going to negative places like movies, parties, or even social gatherings. You should make an effort to spend more time with positive people.

4. Stop comparing your life with others Comparison is the root of all unhappiness and if you compare your life with the lives of other people then you will always find yourself lacking. And that is never good.

So, the very first step towards being happy is to stop comparing your life with others. You should stop envying the rich, the beautiful, the successful, and the talented. You should stop wanting what other people have. Instead, you should focus on improving your own life.

5. Don’t let negative things get to you The last but not least important tip is don’t let negative things get to you. It is very easy to get emotionally affected by the negative things in life.

But, it is hard to come out of it. So, the best way to deal with negativity is to ignore it. If you are angry at someone then you should express that anger in some physical way (like punching a pillow or breaking something) but don’t let that negative energy affect you in any other way.

6. Let go of grudges Holding onto a grudge for a long period of time will do more harm to your health than the initial problem that caused you to hold the grudge. So, if you are holding a grudge against anyone then you should try to let go of that grudge immediately. If it is very hard for you to do so then you should write about that person in your diary and describe all his/her bad qualities and how you will never forgive that person. Then burn that diary and throw it into the fire.

7. Forget the past cannot be changed, so why worry about it? The best way to move on with your life is to forget about the past. You should not dwell on it but neither should you try to deny its existence. Accept it as part of life and move on.

8. Live in the present 

9. don’t think about the future and don’t worry about the past. All we have now is this moment and we should make the most out of it. Worrying about tomorrow will only make your problems worse and thinking about the past will only make you feel sad.

10. Make a plan for yourself. If you want to succeed in your life then you need to make a plan. Make a list of what you want to do and put it on the top of your list. Then cross it off each time you accomplish one of the goals that you had set for yourself.

11. Take some time off from your daily activities. This is very important. If you are so busy that you are never able to rest then it will be very difficult for you to focus on what you are doing. So, take some time off and do something else for a while.
